Tips to weight loss and healthy living.

Ok, so I promised I would post some helpful tips for weight loss and healthy living.
Here are some tips to help y'all out.


  • Quit spending your dollars.
-Drink water. It's free.
-Drinking more than 2 cans of pop will put you in risk for osteoporosis.
-If you don't like drinking water all the time, find a drink that's natural and low in calories. Or just add a lemon wedge.


  • DO NOT starve yourself.
-Your body will go into starvation mode and store fat. Plus, it'll lower your metabolism.
-Your body will eventually drop some pounds.
-Once you start eating again, you'll gain back the weight and then some. So, word of advice DON'T do it.


  • Sleep!
-Getting the required 8 hours of sleep is the easiest diet you can do!
-Sleeping (the amt. of required hours) will boost your metabolism.
-Keep it consistent.
-e.g. :If you go to sleep at or about 11 p.m. do it every night and wake up at 6 a.m., make sure you stick with it.


  • Granola bars, sounds healthy, eh?
-Granola bars aren't as healthy as you think.
-Major brands are packaged with loads of syrup.
-Grab some Nature Valley bars, they're healthier.


  • Chocolate and pizza, sound good?
-Believe it or not, you can still eat pizza AND chocolate and still fit into your skinny jeans.
-For you choco-holics out there, eat dark chocolate instead. It contains skim milk.
-Eating at least 250 calories of dark chocolate a day will lower your risk of heart disease.
-If you're the person who likes to eat pizza every now and then, eat it right!
-A thin crust, low-fat cheese, topped with veggies is much healthier.
-Don't worry about the tomato sauce, it contains anti-oxidants that will better your digestive tract.


  • 8 letters: EXERCISE!
-Exercise at least 20 minutes a day. (Required: 60 min./day)
-Stick to cardio. It's good for your heart.
-For you women, exercise for at least 5 days a week.
-Studies show, women, who exercised every day were in less risk of breast cancer because they were able to maintain a healthy weight.
-Don't make it scrutinizing. Dance, play tag, bike-ride, play baseball, do any fun, physical activity.



  • Make healthier food choices.
-Instead of munching on some chips, munch on an apple.
-Now that obesity had doubled within children and tripled within teens in the past two decades, its important to eat healthier and get physical activity every day.



  • Think small.
-When grabbing a dinner plate, grab a small one.
-This will trick your mind to serve less on your plate.
-When you eat off a regular size plate, you think you need to serve more to fill the emptiness.


  • Eat more veggies and fruits!
-Eating veggies and fruits keep you in shape without trying. TRUST me.
-Eat them before your meal.


  • Eat carbs.
-You heard me right, eat 'em.
-There are slow and fast carbs.
-Slow carbs: veggies, fruit, whole-grains, ect.
-Fast carbs: Cookies, chips, ice cream, ect.
-Eating more slow carbs will keep you full longer. Since it's full of dietary fiber.
-Fast carbs will go rush through your stomach and make you want to eat more 'til ya are.


  • Eat breakfast!
-Not is only breakfast the most important meal of the day, it increases your metabolism.
-Studies show, people who have only a 250 calorie breakfast every day lost less weight.
-Those who had a rich-protein 630 calorie breakfast significantly lost more weight.
-It'll keep you full longer.


  • Stress, we live with it.
-Exercise when you're stressed. Don't take it out on others.
-This will allow for your brain to release a chemical called endorphins, also known as your "happy chemical".
-If you're occasionally stressed, don't be surprised if you're not as slim.
-Exercise to relieve stress. If you want to live longer, do it.


  • Goal-orientation.
-Studies show, those who made goals throughout their lives, lived a longer and healthier life.
-Compared to those who lived a life with no purpose.
-Make goals each day, such as wanting to complete your homework or finishing a novel.
